Geany

A complete integrated development environment.

Geany is an integrated development environment (IDE) built over the GTK2 libraries that supports many programing languages, among which you will find C, C++, C#, Fortran, HTML, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Perl, Pascal, Python, Ruby, SQL, LaTeX and Diff.

  The main features of Geany are:
- Complete text editor that, thanks to the GTK2 libraries, integrates the funcionts of an IDE (edit, compile and launch).
- Customizable interface that allows to modify what it looks like by adding or eliminating options, bars and windows.
- Automatic line adjustments.
- Carry out common operations (insert commentaries, dates or the typical “include <...>”) with a single click of the mouse.
- Various search options.
- Syntax coloring that makes programing easier.

  Together with the application it is possible to install plug-ins like Diff Version, Class Builder or Insert Special Characters, the program manual in text and HMTL format, a list of symbols that are necessary for the autocompletion options or the GTK runtime environment that is essential for Geany to work. What's more, we will be able to choose if we want to add the “Open Geany” to the contextual menu and if we want to have a direct access on the desktop.
